Description
The Vines
Our Grenache vines are grown on our vineyard site near Wombat. The higher altitude combined with the unique soil composition allows for perfect growing conditions. The 2024 Grenache was spur pruned, bunch thinned in December 2023 down to approx. 40%. The lower yields resulting in a more intense flavoured wine. This Grenache was blended with 12.5% Shiraz.
Winemaking
Winemakers: Chris Derrez
14% Alc/Vol
12 days of skin contact then basket pressed. Basket pressed then put into seasonal oak for malo and maturation. 1% Touriga blended in the winery.
Tasting Notes
Fresh, zippy and vibrant. A ripe and rich style married with beautiful, well-integrated French Oak giving it great length. Flavours of mulberries and blue berries. A Bright wine with soft , chalky tannins.
