In More Depth (For Those Who Want To Know A Little More!)

  • As the last blossoms begin to fall, our cherry trees are now putting all their energy into producing fruit. The bees have done a great job pollinating and we now have a good setting of cherries on the trees. Spring in the Hilltops can have quite variable temperatures – if the weather warms up quickly, the ripening will gallop along but if it stays cool, the ripening will slow down. Either way, each day now, we are one day closer to the cherry season and we can’t wait for you to  visit Ballinaclash.
  • The 2025 Cherry Season  is looking to be approximately 2 weeks later than last year. We are hoping the cherry season kicks off around mid- November. Our online bookings are currently open from Saturday 22nd November until Tuesday 23rd December.
  • We will open more bookings as the season progresses. We hope to have cherries  available until close to Christmas.  Apricots are looking to ripen around early December.For more detailed information on the specific cherry varieties that we grow and the order in which they ripen click here.
