We will be picking Vistas (red cherry variety) and Vegas (white cherry variety) this weekend and we are looking forward to welcoming the many people who have already booked in for a Ballinaclash Cherry Experience. The fruit is starting to improve after a very wet start to the cherry season. Cool weather has slowed the ripening which means that it is a later than usual season. We are still waiting for the apricots to ripen – hopefully, with a couple of warm days and nights, they won’t be far away. This first weekend in December is traditionally the biggest weekend of the year in Young as we celebrate all things cherry! With Covid-19 Restrictions the major festival activities in town have had to be cancelled however there are smaller scale activities to help celebrate the 2021 cherry season in Young, the Cherry Capital of Australia!
