Finally the sun showed its face this cherry season and we are so grateful to our loyal customers who came out in force to visit us last weekend. Although many of the cherries have been damaged from the incessant and untimely rain, our weekend pick your owners still managed to find some good looking Vistas and Vegas.
The picking is harder going and certainly slower than usual but from the feedback we received, people were happy to be out in the fresh air, surrounded by beautiful trees and enjoying their Ballinaclash experience.
I didn’t see many people leave without a cherry ice cream in hand and a pie or two under their arm plus bags full of our house made jams and sauces.
The Wine Tasting Experiences were also well received and it was great to see so many Ballinaclash bottles making their way to their new homes all over the countryside.
With the weather forecast looking more favourable this week, we are looking forward to a good weekend of cherry picking. Although there is still some damage, hopefully there will be less in the later cherry varieties.
